BIOGRAPHIES OF PEOPLE
Lech Polkowski received his M.E. from the Warsaw University of Technology in 1969. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Warsaw University in 1977 and 1982, respectively. In 1994 he got his D.Sc. (habilitation) in Mathematics. In 2000 he was awarded the title of Professor by the President of the Republic of Poland.
He is an author or co-author of many publications in the fields of rough sets, morphology, rough mereology, granular and rough-neural computations. He authored one and co-authored another four monographic volumes, published by Springer-Verlag. He is also a member of editorial board of several international journals and periodicals. He served as a special session chair and member of program committees at many conferences including RSCTC, RSFDGrC, IPMU and others.
His current research interests include foundations and applications of approximate reasoning, multi-agent environments, aspects of mobile robotics, computing with words and the theory of granularity. |
