Salvatore Greco

Salvatore Greco received his degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics of Catania University in 1988. He had been assistant researcher at Faculty of Economics of the University of Catania since 1994, associate professor since 1998 and he has been full professor since 2001. Currently he teaches Decision Theory and General Mathematics at the Faculty of Economics of University of Catania. His main research interests are in the field of multicriteria decision aid and in the application of the rough set approach to decision analysis. He is a member of the A.M.A.S.E.S. (Italian Association for Mathematics Applied to Economic and Social Sciences), A.I.R.O. (Italian Association of Operational Research) and U.M.I. (Italian Mathematical Society). He presented many invited contributions in international conferences and published several articles in prestigious journals. For his research on rough set approach applied to multiple criteria decision analysis together with Benedetto Matarazzo and Roman Slowinski received the Best Theoretical Paper Award, by the Decision Sciences Institute (Athens, 1999). Together with Benedetto Matarazzo he organized the fifth Summer School in Multicriteria Decision Analysis (Acireale, 2000). He has been invited professor at the Poznan University of Technology and at the University of Paris Dauphine. Together with Josè Figueira and Matthias Ehrgott edited a collection of state of art surveys in multiple criteria decision analysis.
